Established Workweek: Monday – Friday, First Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm. Second Shift: 3:00pm - 11:30pm. Third Shift: 11:00pm - 7:30am
Job Summary:
Under supervision, a maintenance technician I will learn and perform a variety of duties in the maintenance field. Employees in this role will have a focus on mold cleaning and maintenance while also performing hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic, and building maintenance within the assigned plant. Employees at this level will gain troubleshooting skills while maintaining the preservation and good functionality of both machinery and premises. A maintenance technician I may advance to the higher level after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiency in the qualifications for the higher level.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
- Clean and inspect molds for damage, perform routine maintenance on molds.
- Assist in the setup of new machinery and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
- Maintain safety standards while performing job functions, including demonstrated ability to use and read a multimeter
- Perform basic maintenance of electrical systems
- Perform basic maintenance functions through a preventative maintenance system such as filter changing and replacement, oil changes, cleaning and greasing of equipment, etc
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
- Perform manual repairs on all machinery and facilities when necessary
- Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry, light plumbing, etc)
- Certified in hi-lo, overhead crane, and/or scissor lift operation
- Can look up work order history and existing work orders within computer system
- All duties of a Maintenance Technician I
- Other duties as assigned
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to multitask
- Cross training among plants and facilities
- Ability to work off shifts as needed
- Ability to work overtime as needed
Qualifications, Experience, and Specific Skills Required:
Education/Experience:
- High School or equivalent
- Trade school or apprenticeship experience preferred
- 1-3 years’ experience in maintenance or a related field
Specific Skills:
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems
- Multi-meter use
- Knowledge of fuses and how they work
- Hydraulic hose connection and disconnection
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices such as welders, torches, band saws, drill press, and multiple hand tools
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Schematic reading is a plus
- Understands the principles of lean and 5S as it pertains to manufacturing
